Birchbox - April 2012

Hey Everyone!!!

So we just got back yesterday from our trip out to NJ for Honda Day and my Birchbox was waiting in the mail!!!  For those that are not familiar with Birchbox, it's a monthly beauty subscription (costs $10 a month) that sends you 4-5 deluxe (and sometimes full size) products.  Included in the box is a card with a message from the Birchbox team along with a list of products in your box and full size prices for the products (which can be ordered on their website).

This months theme is "Natural Wonders"

The first 2 items in the box are both by Kahina Giving Beauty.  It's a small packet of their Argan Oil and one of their Facial Lotion.

The Argan Oil is 100% organic Moroccan oil which is meant to moisturize dry hair or skin.  It can also be mixed with the Facial Lotion in create a mega-hydrator.  And the Facial Lotion is inspired by Moroccan beauty rituals and uses organic shea butter to nourish the skin.
*Full Size:  Argan Oil - $36.00 & Facial Lotion - $62.00

The next little gem is something I have heard a little buzz about online and it is the Wonderstruck fragrance by Taylor Swift.  There isn't any information on the notes of this fragrance so I pulled the description from the Internet..."A charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence".  I am looking forward to giving this a try!
*Full Size:  $49.50 & $59.50

The next product smells just as amazing as the Taylor Swift fragrance and it is the Benta Berry G-1 Exfoliating Facial Cleanser.  It smells EXACTLY like something that has been in a Birchbox before (and I can't put my finger on which product it is) and it is heavenly.  It's a Parisian brand creamy exfoliator with ground apricot seeds.
*Full Size:  $16.00

I have always been interested in the Pur Minerals brand and now I am able to sample their 4-in-1 Mineral Tinted Moisturizer.  It claims that it is a moisturizer, primer, foundation, and SPF 20 that covers blemishes while infusing the skin with moisturizing botanicals.  My samples is in the shade medium but I have been tanning recently so I might have to use a bronzer on top if this to match my current skin tone.
*Full Size:  $34.00

And last, but not least, an item I have been debating on picking up from the drug store and it is the Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Cleansing Facial Towelettes (8 travel towelettes).  Every time I go to my local Walgreen's and stroll past the cosmetic section, I always end up looking at the Yes To products and debating on grabbing a package of these towelettes. The product is 99% Natural and paraben-free.  It's a cleansing and moisturizing towelette infused with apple, blueberry, and lemon peel extracts meant for removing makeup while hydrating the skin.
*Full Size:  30 pack - $7.99

Thank you all for reading and I hope you are all having a good morning, afternoon, or evening whereever you are!  Also, if you are subscribed to Birchbox and received anything different in your box this month, leave a comment below and share what came in yours!  Take care everyone and talk to you soon =)

MyGlam Bag - April 2012

Hey Everyone!!!

I'm pretty excited right now!  My boyfriend and I are leaving this evening to head out to see his grandma and sister in PA and also going to a car event in New Jersey called Honda Day.  But I just checked the mail and my MyGlam bag was in there!!!!!! =) =) =)

I am subscribed to both Birchbox and MyGlam.  And for those of you who are not familiar with these services, they are monthly beauty subscriptions (both $10 a month) that send you 4-5 deluxe, and sometimes full size, beauty, skin care, and life style products.  My Birchbox is supposed to arrive while we are out of town, so Monday night I will blog that when we get back!

Jumping into the April 2012 GlamBag.....this months theme is "Girls' Night Out". (I have also included all of the products full size measurements and pricing at the end of each description.)

To start, the bag is this nice metallic pink...almost reminds me of like that 80's pink, but in a cute way lol.

Inside the bag they gave us:

1.) A 0.8g (0.03oz) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil and mine came in perversion.  It's this gorgeous, smooth intense black color.  I swatched it on my hand and it is amazing.  It is so creamy and really "glides" over the skin.  I have never tried one of their 24/7 Eye Pencils so I am really excited.
*Full Size Product:  1.2g (0.04oz) - Retails:  $19.00

2.) ***FULL SIZE***DermStore Lip Quench 8g (0.21oz) Moisture Infused Lip Treatment.  It's claim on the packaging is to give "thin, dry lips a fuller, smoother, hydrated appearance".  When you squeeze the product out it has a light pink, almost flesh tone color to it, but applies very sheer.  It's literally one of the MOST hydrating lip treatments I have ever applied to my lips.  It also has this light tropical scent...like pineapples, mango's, and coconuts mixed into one.
*Full Size Product:  0.21oz - Retails $12.00

3.) All-Belle Eyelashes - I have never tried false lashes so I am SUPER excited to try them out.  It's a single pair of lashes and glue was provided with each pair.  Everything on the packaging (other than the name) is in Japanese or Chinese.  And through the MyGlam website, I was not able to find a link or pricing for this item.

4.)  The last 2 items are both signature MyGlam brushes.  There is an All-Over Eyeshadow Brush and an Eyeliner Brush.  If you are subscribed to MyGlam and you received March's bag, then you received the Crease/Shader Brush along with the carrying case.  These 2 items could not have come at a better time.  With us leaving tonight for the weekend, they will be perfect to add to last months brush and they will all stay clean inside the case they sent last month too!!!

If you guys are not subscribed to MyGlam and are interested, head over to their website:  https://myglam.com and sign up!  Subscriptions are limited and if they are sold up, opt to sign up for the email notification for when subscriptions are back in stock!

I hope you guys are having a wonderful day!  If you have any questions, please let a comment below!  Talk to guys real soon =)

NuMe 25mm Curling Wand

First off let me start by saying I feel like a complete @$$ for not sticking to my word....I promised almost a month ago that I was going to start posting more stuff and keeping up with this.  Between work and school my schedule just got a bit crazy.  I am winding down my first semester back at school since 2005 and just needed to get myself adjusted to all of this again.  In a few short weeks I will have a nice 2 week "spring break" and then next semester I will be taking fewer classes which means more time for this and starting my YouTube videos and Vlogs!!!! =)

With that being said....I am excited to post my very first review.  I am subscribed to both Birchbox and MyGlam.  In the February MyGlam bag we recieved a gift card for $100 off any NuMe hot tool.  They had an amazing sale on their curling wands, and then with the gift card from MyGlam, just made this wand a complete STEAL!  The retail price of the wand was in the upwards of $225 (I think)?  It was marked down on sale for $165 and then with my $100gift card from MyGlam it made the wand $65!!!!

They have 5 different types/measurements of wands.  I have the 25mm, which is roughly about a 1 inch barrel size.  They have a selection of colors (black, pink, zebra, and I think white).  The wand heats up extremely fast, but only has an on/off switch, you are not able to adjust the heat.  It has the swivel cord on the end of the wand to help deter from tangling.

It also comes with the heat protectant glove to avoid burning yourself (it may be uncomfortable at first, but you get used to wearing it).

Over all I am very pleased with this wand.  It was exactly what I have been looking for to give me the perfect, beachy wave look that regular curling irons and wands couldn't.  I have really thick and long hair, so I had to divide my hair into more sections and it took me about 45 minutes to curl all of my hair.  It was fast and after the first few curls, I got the hang of using the wand.

I know it seems a bit pricey but I think it's well worth the investment.  I also have a higher end straightner and I would never use anything else.  It does such an effective job and in less time than a regular straightner, and the same can be said for the NuMe Curling Wand!  If you have any additional questions please leave comments and I will be more than happy to answer them for you guys.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day =)

NOTD - Fun Neons

Hey Everyone!

With so many new nail trends for Spring/Summer....I have been changing my polish almost every other day.  I have really been liking the bright, neon colors.  I think they are so fun and a great way to add a little pop of color to your everyday look.

My most recent combo was China Glaze's Turned Up Turquoise (Neon) and Frostbite.

Both formulas are a little on the thinner side.  It took me 3 heavy coats to get the polish fully opaque.  One thing I did not know (and this was my first time using this polish) was that the turqouise color dries matte.  Had I known it was a matte polish, I probably wouldn't have bought it.  But after applying the top coat it gives a nice shine.

(sorry for the fuzzy pics....had a hard time focusing my camera)

What sort of nail trends are you guys loving as the weather warms up?  Leave a comment below =)

Thanks for reading guys...have a wonderful day!!!
