I have always had mixed feelings when it comes to facial oils. Personally, I have extremely oily skin. So to put an oil on my oily face just didn't make much sense to me. Recently with the weather changes here in Ohio, the air is much colder and drier which means quite the opposite of oily skin for this chick.
I recently purchased one of the Tarte holiday sets (the Tarte of Giving set) which included a sample of the Pure Maracuja Oil (0.23 Fl. oz/7 mL). I decided to give it a try a couple of weeks ago when my Proativ moisturizer was no longer doing the trick. I started out using the oil just at night to see how it would react with my skin. When I first applied the oil, my skin felt slightly greasy and I was thinking, "I hope I just didn't make a HUGE mistake putting this on my skin?!"
But as I continued on my evening routine, brushing my teeth and hair, I started to notice the "greasy shine" was dissipating and the product was sinking into my skin. Within a few minutes there was no film or any left over product on my face, just nice, smooth, and supple skin.
The wonderful thing about the oil is that it is VERY hydrating. Most people will use face washes that contain some sort of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in them, which can strip the skin of any natural oils and leaves your skin feeling dry and tight. The Maracuja Oil helps to balance out the dryness and re-hydrates the skin.

The full size Pure Maracuja Oil retails for $46.00 (1.7oz bottle) on Sephora's website. It is also sold as a 0.06oz rollerball on there for $17.00. Tarte currently has another set out this Holiday season called the Thoughtful Treasures Best-Sellers Set for $10.00 which includes the same deluxe sample size Maracuja Oil I have (0.23 Fl. oz. / 7 mL), a sample size limited-edition amazonian clay blush, and a mini Lip Surgance Lip Tint. I also received an email today with some of Sephora's Black Friday deals and they have another Tarte sample set called Little Miracles Best Selling Essentials (also $10.00) which includes a sample size Maracuja Oil, the Amazonian Clay Setting Powder, and a deluxe sample of the Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara .
