Tarte Wanderlust LipSurgence Set - QVC Exlusive

My fiance and I are really laid back people.  Most Friday nights we spend our time at home in our pajamas, watching TV, and unwinding from the past week.  Sometimes Jay (my fiance) will fall asleep leaving me to browse the television for something to watch.  Lately I have been gravitating towards the Friday Night Beauty segment on QVC.  A couple of weeks ago they had a 2 hour special on and one of the items available was the Tarte Wanderlust 5 piece LipSurgene Set.

The set comes with 5 full size LipSurgence (2 Lip Creme, 2 Lip Luster, & 1 Lip Tint).  I held off on the other Tarte LipSurgence set with the 8 minis because I love my full size products.  Individually these retail for $24.00 each...I was able to snag mine on QVC for $34.72.  That price was exclusively for the night they ran the segment.  However, the set is still available on QVC's website for only $42.00.  You are getting $120.00 worth of products for only $42.00...you can't beat this deal.  And if you are like me, a true Tarte addict, you know what an amazing buy this set is.  And they were nice enough to throw in a sample of the Tarte BB tinted treatment, which included 4 different samples in different shades.

Left to right:  Miracle, Heartfelt, Dashing, Kind, & Festive

I am so happy with the range of colors in this set and the different finishes.  There is a coral, pinks, plum, and gorgeous red.  They are all buttery and smooth and have the classic peppermint scent and come in the cute holiday packaging with the gold tops/lids.  If you are interested in checking out the set or purchasing it, I have included the link below to QVC for this item.

Rockin' Red Hot PRO Set

I was extremely happy when I came across this set in Ulta a couple weeks ago.  I first spotted this and it was completely sold out.  From the little description on the display in the store, I thought I was reading it wrong.  But I went back later in the week and they had one of this set left.  When I was able to actually see what was in the box I was beside myself.

You get the FULL SIZE Lorac PRO palette, a mini eye primer, and a full size liquid eyeliner pen for $39.00!!!  That is cheaper than just buying the palette alone (which retails for $42.00).  I was really shocked and absolutely HAD TO HAVE IT =)

I have been debating since it came out if it was something I really needed.  Of course being the makeup addict I am, the answer is always YES!  What I really like about the palette is that it is half matte and half shimmer.  I am a big fan of matte colors and prefer them over all the other finishes.  The palette has a lot of darker, warmer colors that make it perfect for fall and winter.  I don't mind the shimmer colors in this palette because it's not huge chunks of glitter in the shadow, and they are sparkly enough, yet subtle for wear around the holidays.

All the shades in this palette are buttery, creamy, and smooth.  They have great color pay off and well worth $39.00 if you can get your hands on the set.  It is an Ulta exclusive and can be purchased in store or online at http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod5920336

More pictures and swatches to follow soon.  I have been busy wrapping up this semester at school and have some time in the next few days for swatching and pictures!

Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil Review

I have always had mixed feelings when it comes to facial oils.  Personally, I have extremely oily skin.  So to put an oil on my oily face just didn't make much sense to me.  Recently with the weather changes here in Ohio, the air is much colder and drier which means quite the opposite of oily skin for this chick.

I recently purchased one of the Tarte holiday sets (the Tarte of Giving set) which included a sample of the Pure Maracuja Oil (0.23 Fl. oz/7 mL).  I decided to give it a try a couple of weeks ago when my Proativ moisturizer was no longer doing the trick.  I started out using the oil just at night to see how it would react with my skin.  When I first applied the oil, my skin felt slightly greasy and I was thinking, "I hope I just didn't make a HUGE mistake putting this on my skin?!"

But as I continued on my evening routine, brushing my teeth and hair, I started to notice the "greasy shine" was dissipating and the product was sinking into my skin.  Within a few minutes there was no film or any left over product on my face, just nice, smooth, and supple skin.

The wonderful thing about the oil is that it is VERY hydrating.  Most people will use face washes that contain some sort of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in them, which can strip the skin of any natural oils and leaves your skin feeling dry and tight.  The Maracuja Oil helps to balance out the dryness and re-hydrates the skin.

The full size Pure Maracuja Oil retails for $46.00 (1.7oz bottle) on Sephora's website.  It is also sold as a 0.06oz rollerball on there for $17.00.  Tarte currently has another set out this Holiday season called the Thoughtful Treasures Best-Sellers Set for $10.00 which includes the same deluxe sample size Maracuja Oil I have (0.23 Fl. oz. / 7 mL), a sample size limited-edition amazonian clay blush, and a mini Lip Surgance Lip Tint.  The link to that set is right below:

I also received an email today with some of Sephora's Black Friday deals and they have another Tarte sample set called Little Miracles Best Selling Essentials (also $10.00) which includes a sample size Maracuja Oil, the Amazonian Clay Setting Powder, and a deluxe sample of the Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara .  Below is the link to their Pinterest Black Friday Deals:

Wintery Nail of the Day

I am so happy it's Christmas Time....I LOVE this time of year.

Yesterday on my lunch break I stopped into the drug store down the street from my work to pick up a few of the Holiday Essie Polishes.  When I walked around the corner I spotted the Sinful Colors display with their holiday colors and some other miscellaneous polishes.  The first 2 that caught my eye were these 2:

My mom always decorates her house in baby blues, whites, and silvers (and snowmen) around this time of year, so the blue color really grabbed my attention and made me think of home.  On the shelf directly above it I spotted the glittery color.  My mom also does a baby blue, silver, and white themed tree every year and last year she picked up some ornaments that have blue and purple glitter.  I just couldn't pass these 2 up and for $1.99 at the drug store...HELLO!!!!  What a steal!

The baby blue color, Cinderella is a nice pale blue with iridescent, pearl like micro shimmers...once it's on it really reminded me of Cinderellas glass slipper =)  It took 3 coats before fully opaque (on a few nails).  Frenzy, the glitter color, is a nice blue and dark purple fine glitter polish.  I only did two coats (as I didn't want to struggle trying to remove it) but I think I could have gone for 3 coats for full opacity.

I hope you guys enjoyed this NOTD...I will try and post more this month.  I recently purchased, and already have, a TON of holiday polishes.  So I want to experiment with different combinations and maybe dabble in some nail art.

Have a great day everyone!

P.S.  Keep your eyes peeled...I did a massive shopping haul recently and I will be posting up reviews of all the items I purchased.  Follow me on Instagram and Twitter (both @JacquleneNoel) for beauty pics and mayhem =)

Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Fall Limited Edition Cream Shadows

Hey Everyone!

Sorry it's been awhile since my last post.  Between work, school, working out, vacation, ect. I have been a busy lady!!!  But none the less...I have been so excited about the new Color Tattoo Cream Shadows.  There are 8 new shades total, 4 jewel tones and 4 fall/neutrals.  As pretty as the jewel tone ones are, they aren't really my style.  I like to venture out of the box and try new things, but I also like to stay practical when it comes to my makeup.  I want to buy what I am going to use, not just buy things to have them.

I purchased 3 out of the 4 neutral colors...I did not purchase the new gold because I honestly don't wear too much gold, if any at all.  It was a nice color, but again I probably wouldn't reach for it, so I didn't want to waste my money.

The 3 colors I did get are...

(100 Barely Beige, 200 Mossy Green, & 400 Rich Mahogany)

All 3 are gorgeous colors that can be worn alone or as bases for other colors and looks.  I have 5 of these cream shadows from their permanent line and LOVE THEM!!!  They are great for days when I am in a hurry, I can use my fingers and apply a thin layer of the shadow.  I don't have to worry about ceasing and the shadow does not budge.

Barely Beige is this gorgeous pinky, champagne color which would work great as a highlight (along the brow bone and inner corner).  Or this can be worn alone for a no-makeup makeup look =)

Mossy Green and Rich Mahogany were 2 of the colors I am most excited about.  I have brown eyes and I think both of these colors will do a great job accentuating that and really making them pop.  I also think using the mossy green as the shadow and the rich mahogany as a crease color or along the lash line as a liner would look cute too.

All in all, very impressed with these shadows and look forward to trying others.  Have you guys tried any of the new limited edition shadows?  Which ones?  Thoughts?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Lately I feel a little behind when it comes to new beauty items.  But as most of you have already heard, seen, or tried for yourself, Revlon has jumped on the wagon with their Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.

At first when I saw these, I thought they were another take on their original Just Bitten Stains.  I tried a few of those and found them to be hard to work with and extremely drying.  They looked just like a sharpie and I felt like no matter how much I put on it was always uneven and seemed to feather outside the lip line as the day wore on.

But the more blogs and reviews I read, I discovered they were more like a Tarte Lip Surgance or Clinique Chubby Stick!  I have not yet tried a Clinique Chubby Stick, but I do own a half a dozen of so of the Tarte Lip Surgance.  They are the most amazing thing I have ever put on my lips, but they are an expensive obsession.

Now that I have tried a few of the Revlon Balms Stains in my opinion I think they are a great dupe for the Tarte Lip Surgance at more than half the price. Not to say I won't ever purchase another Lip Surgance from Tarte (because they are like my holy grail brand and I like to indulge every now and then) but they are a more affordable option if you are someone on a budget.

So far I have only tried 4 of the Revlon Balm Stains but plan to purchase more.  But the 4 I have tried are:

Cherish (015), Sweetheart (025), Romantic (45), and Charm (035)

They go on smooth, like butter, they don't feather as the day wears on, they have a nice shine at first and as the gloss wears off it leaves your lips with this gorgeous flush of color. They all have a nice minty scent/flavor.  I would highly recommend to anyone interested in trying.

(Swatches indoors: Romantic, Sweetheart, Cherish, & Charm)

Have you tired any of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains?  Which ones?  I would love to hear from you!!!  Leave comments below and let me know what you guys think.  Thanks for reading and take care everyone! xoxo
